I have an old 0.22 Vulcan Carbine No. 027709. The spring broke last year and I have replaced it with a Chambers Kit. The rifle is underpowered. I have stripped it down several times and there does not appear to be obvious leaks. The pellets I have been using are Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum and JSB Diabolo Exact 0.22 5.5mm.
Can anyone suggest alternative pellets e.g. 5.6mm, as the ones I have been using seem "loose" in the barrel.

I had a few stingrays.(new vulcan) Used JSB in them too.
Power can be low if pistonseal fit is not correct (too tight or too loose), if preload isnt correct, or if springguide is excessively tight.
There arent any 'good'5.6's anymore. You can try H&N FTT 5.55

Is the breech seal OK? and has the barrel moved in the breech block?

I used RWS superpoints in both my Vulcans and Eclispe, found them to be very accurate and effective for both rabbits and woodpigeons plus the odd rat.
